West Ham United are looking into signing Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, as reported by The Guardian.
What’s the story?
Ryan Fredericks is expected to be out until February, so the Hammers are looking for somebody who can come into the side and take some of the pressure off Pablo Zabaleta.
David Moyes is said to have specifically asked for someone to be recruited to fill this position, which has led to an inquiry about the possibility of getting Walker-Peters in on loan until the end of the campaign.
The 22-year-old is also being watched by Crystal Palace and Southampton.
This news comes after Moyes denied that West Ham had made a bid for Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash, as was reported on the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (26/01/2020, 09:30).

Slim pickings
Considering the fact that West Ham are London rivals with Spurs, it isn’t great that they are looking to sign somebody on loan from them who has hardly played all season.
The 22-year-old started all three of the North London club’s first three Premier League games but has not played a single minute in the league since, making the bench twice.
Outside of that, Walker-Peters played the full match in losses against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Call yourself a West Ham expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
Bringing in somebody who hasn’t even made the bench since November does not offer much encouragement, as the Hammers will be looking for a player to come in and make an immediate impact – something he may not be able to do given a lack of football.
This follows on from a campaign in which the youngster made ten appearances across all competitions.
There may be interest from fellow Premier League sides, but the fact that West Ham are looking to take somebody who has played so sporadically at Spurs does make this feel like they are getting the slim pickings.
Meanwhile, David Ornstein has offered an update on West Ham’s hunt for a midfielder.
