The United States international has enjoyed a personal reversal in fortune in the 2023-24 campaign, with a regular role found back in Turin after returning from a forgettable loan spell in the Premier League at Leeds – which saw him relegated. McKennie is now chasing down title glory in Italy, with Juve sat second in the table through 15 games.

McKennie has told of collective ambition at the Allianz Stadium, that could allow him to add to a medal collection that already includes Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana honours: “Scudetto? It sounds nice, it is a word that would sound even nicer if we get it at the end of the year. We haven’t accomplished it in past years, but we know that this is where Juventus belongs, it’s an important club with a lot of history, won it many times in the past. We want to do right by the fans, by the club and by ourselves. Ultimately, we want to be in the Champions League positions, but the cherry on top would definitely be the Scudetto. That’s what we’re going to try to do. We’ll try to take it game by game and try to take three points each weekend.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
McKennie joined Juve in the summer of 2020, shortly after their last Serie A title win, which came when Cristiano Ronaldo was still on their books. He has taken in 80 appearances for the club and is seeing his versatility put to good use this season as he operates in a right-sided midfield role.
