Wrexham's pre-season underwayHeading to North America for tourDavies blown away by base training facilitiesWHAT HAPPENED?
Wrexham began their pre-season campaign earlier this month and now they are heading out to North America for a trio of high-profile fixtures. Davies revealed that in 2023, the Red Dragons trained at Chapel Hill University in one of the "highlights" of the trip – and he is expecting more of the same at the University of California this time around. The 25-year-old joked it is better than a "cow field" and that the state-of-the-art facilities give the team an extra boost.

He told The Athletic: "This definitely isn’t a holiday. Two sessions a day, but the facilities make those sessions a little bit easier when things get tough. They were brilliant last year. Chapel Hill University was one of the highlights of the trip. A really special place. It’s UCLA (University of California) this time around so I’d expect a similar experience. Facilities like that probably give you that five per cent more. It’s certainly better than running round a cow field."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham are aiming to become the first team to achieve three straight promotions in the top five levels of the English football pyramid following their triumphs in the National League and League Two in the past two campaigns. And having a strong pre-season could be key in achieving that goal.
